A gentle first step to see if we’re a good fit.
You’ve been carrying something; old memories, quiet shame, repeating patterns, or a sense that there’s more healing available than you’ve found on your own. A Discovery Session is a gentle, no-pressure conversation to see if working together feels like the right next step.
In this 25-minute call (via Zoom or phone), we simply talk. You share whatever feels most important right now - what’s weighing on you, what you’ve tried, and what you’re hoping for. I listen with steady presence and deep listening, asking a few gentle questions to help us both see your story more clearly. There’s no fixing, no advice, and no sales pitch. I’ll share a little about how Story Work and Narrative Focused Trauma Care can meet you where you are, and we’ll honestly explore whether my approach feels like a good fit for you. You’ll leave with clarity as to whether that’s a yes to a Story Work Group, 1:1 coaching, or simply knowing this isn’t the right season.
What You Can Expect:
- Feel truly heard and understood, without judgment.
- Gentle clarity on the patterns or pain points that matter most.
- A sense of whether story work could help soften shame and restore connection.
- No obligation, just honest discernment together.

Focused, personal space to explore your story.
You’ve carried old memories, quiet shame, or patterns that haven’t fully shifted through solo work or groups. These one-on-one Story Work Sessions offer dedicated time to gently engage one chapter of your story with my full attention and care.
In each 50-minute session (via Zoom or in-person), you bring a short written narrative from childhood that you’ve prepared beforehand. Together we engage it using the Allender Center’s Narrative Focused Trauma Care® approach. I listen without agenda or rush. We name both the woundedness and the goodness that was always there, offer caring reflections, and explore new meaning through the engagement. You share only what feels safe, your pace is always honored. Between sessions you’ll receive gentle writing guidance and reflection prompts to continue the work at home.
What You Can Expect:
- Feel truly seen and understood in a one-on-one space.
- Shame begins to loosen as hidden goodness and clarity emerges.
- Old memories lose their power and gain new meaning.
- Deeper connection with yourself, others, and God.
- A fresh sense of shalom, wholeness, peace, and freedom to live more fully alive.
Is This Right for You?

You don’t have to figure out your story alone.
Maybe you’ve felt stuck in old patterns, carrying quiet shame from childhood wounds, or wondering why certain memories still hold so much power. You’ve tried therapy, journaling, or prayer… but something still feels unfinished. A Story Work Group is a small, safe, guided experience where you finally get to tell your story and have it truly heard.
What a Story Work Group Is Like
Imagine stepping into a quiet, welcoming circle of just 5–6 people (including me as your facilitator). No one is there to fix you or give advice. Instead, we create a space where you can:
- Week 1: We begin together. I share a piece of my own story first, so you see exactly how it works. We set gentle ground rules that keep everything confidential and respectful.
- Each week after: One or two people share a short written story (600–1,000 words) about a memory from childhood. You simply listen while the group offers kind, honest reflections that help you see your story in new ways, both the pain and the goodness that was always there.
- Mid-group: We return to each story a second time. This “second engagement” often brings surprising insight, tenderness, and freedom.
- Final week: We end with a meaningful time of blessing, words of honor spoken over each person, celebrating the courage you showed and the life that’s opening up ahead.
Every session is 2 hours (virtual on Zoom or in-person in Redding, CA). You’ll receive writing guidance and my steady presence every step of the way. No pressure to share more than you’re ready for, your pace is always honored.
